About The Artist

image After twenty-two years of working in the corporate world, Jim retired to start a new chapter of life. Photography had been a serious hobby of his during the days of film and slides and was something he knew he wanted to pick up again after retirement. The skills and perspectives visible through his work have been self taught and/or gained through his own creative and artistic ability, experiences, and training. As an artist he looks for opportunities to capture or create unique images that will work well in either a business or home setting.

His gallery, located at Mocha Lisa Coffeehouse and Gallery in Racine, WI, contains a selection of images ranging from traditional images of local attractions, such as the Wind Point Lighthouse, to interesting macro images and very creative compositions. He has shown his images on a variety of mediums including aluminum, wood, and different photographic papers.

In addition to his hanging artwork, he uses his images on general purpose and traditional (e.g. Get Well, Sympathy, etc.) 5x7 photo cards and 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 note cards.

His work has been accepted by the Racine Art Museum’s Wustum Museum of Fine Arts for their 2008 Racine and Vicinity Show: All Media Juried Competition and their Wisconsin Photography 2009 and 2012 exhibitions. He has also exhibited at Spectrum Gallery’s 2009 “The Black and White Invitational Show”, and has been recognized by the Wisconsin Chapter of the Photographic Society of America in their state-wide competitions.

Jim does commission work on request and can apply his creative and artisitc skills to a wide variety of subject matter to create custom images.
